Here is How Coaching Works:

1 Contact me about what you need help with. Contact me now.

2 I’ll be in touch by e-mail to work out a time we can talk 30 to 45 minutes by phone (Skype is available, too) for our first coaching session.

3 Once we get a good time to talk, I will send you an invoice for payment (you only pay as you go, no pre-paid package of sessions required).

4 We have our first session! What you get: I will don my coaching hat and help you uncover some of the issues and opportunities that need to be considered to move forward with your work. I will also don my teacher hat and bring you all that I have seen others use successfully to get where they want to go.

5 You decide how long to continue coaching. We can meet by phone once a week, once every other week, or once a month. That’s up to you and your needs.

A Coach Can Get You Going and Keep You Focused

Why do everything alone? Do you think you can do all the heavy lifting alone? 99% of us can’t. With help, most of us can.

A coach will work with you to shape your ambitions into a focused vision and then into the steps to get you there. Working together is powerful stuff.  At last you are where you want to be.

No Luxury Fees but Serious Results
Not only is coaching necessary for most people, it is practical, and certainly affordable. Most people only need some jump-start coaching sessions.  That’s it. You learn from your coach how to self-coach.

What the Heck is Coaching? Don’t take my word for it. Read this New York Times article to find out. Pros and cons are covered.

A Few More Words on What is Coaching?

When you have a coach you have someone you can work with week-in-week out on your personal ambitions. A coach gives you a safe place to declare, explore, and implement those ambitions. A coach is a sounding board, objective observer, cheerleader, mild guide, doorway to other resources, another set of eyes, a source of structure and a source of  freedom.

How Long Does Coaching Take?

It depends on how much support you want. Weekly, biweekly, monthly, and whenever you need it sessions are available. If you need to sink in and spend time, try weekly or biweekly. If you are curious or are looking for basic coaching, try a monthly schedule.  If you want to work longer, that’s great, no one will be kicked out the door. You are in control of the coaching experience in terms of length of time and your goals.

Safe and Confidential
The coaching experience provides you a safe place to stretch your wings, freely express your ambitions, think big/be big, and explore thinking in new ways. It is also a great place to look directly at the old standards obstacles that crush achievement—fear of failure, anxiety, frustration, and the inner critic. Coaching  is a confidential place. I follow the ethics of the world’s largest coaching association, the International Coach Federation which means our entire time together will be treated as confidential.

O.k., How Do I Get Started?

The vast majority of coaching in the world today is done over the phone, e-mail, or Skype. Most of my sessions are done by phone/Skype with e-mail follow-ups. The frequency of sessions can run from once a week to once a month, depending on where you are and what your needs are. For beginning coaching clients, I recommend weekly sessions to get you into the rhythm of coaching. Sessions are a productive 45 minutes with the client plugging away between sessions working on their projects and on optional homework assignments to help them build their Creative abilities.
